Connect
At the root of following Jesus and engaging in community are connections. We’re not talking about cheap connections that are passed under the social and political tables of the workplace, but rather, connections that place people in a spiritually, emotionally and socially intimate space with others.
We firmly believe that isolation is the enemy of God, so therefore, we hope Eikon is a place where people connect with and join in community with other people. We certainly don’t think that every single person who connects with Eikon is going to become instant best friends, but we do hope they find common ground under the umbrella of people following in the way of Jesus.
We connect in worship, in conversation, in song. We connect over late-night coffee and over a beer in a local pub. We connect in times of silence and meditation and in times of open prayer. We connect in creation: of art, of poetry, of music, of performance. We connect in endless ways. While we will certainly arrange and carry out specific modes of connection, we believe, often, the most meaningful connections occur in those sporadic and unexpected moments in life.
At Eikon, we hope you connect.
